    Shower Curtains, grrrrrrrr

Anyone have any solutions for a 10 week old kitten that loves climbing vinyl shower curtains?

I caught him earlier and he pissed me off so bad because its like the 4th time today, so I turned the shower on him.

He didnt like it and got a bit wet. I'm sure this will happen again though.

The easy thing would be to close the b-room door but I cant cause the litter box is in the b-room.

    Suggestions?

    Hi,

Before I suggest things I would like to point out I have never owned a cat.

Can you hang the shower curtains over the track at the top or tie them up in some way?

Can you move the litter box?

Can you trim his claws ro make climbing harder?

Can you make him wear socks?

my girlfriends cat loves to jump up on top of my rats tank, and scares the poop out of the rats (more for me to clean) so i just use the spray bottle i use for the snakes, turn the knob to "jet", and just give him a spray when he jumps up there. he hasn't bothered the rats again.

I was going to say basically the same thing. Just get a spray bottle with some water in it and whenever you catch your kitten climbing/ or trying to climb the shower curtain, just give it a little spray. I have done this to keep my cats off the kitchen table and from climbing my window curtains. It shouldn't take but a few times and they won't do it anymore.

I did the same thing to keep my cat off the counters.

This method has always worked well with my cats also!

I have to use squirt bottles on my cats but one solution could be that for the time being, while the cat is still a kitten, get one of those cheap plastic show curtains. The kitten won't be able to climb those and it will save you from having to get up and squirt him every five seconds.

Spray bottle, loud hand clap accompanied by a NO NO hollered his way, can full of small rocks to shake at his rear end, toss the shower curtain over the railing.....he's a kitten, kittens do this sort of stuff...just like puppies piddle on your rug sometimes...it's part of them being babies. I had a stubborn neutered tom that would only mind you if you imitated a cat hiss at him...hey whatever works.

Cat love to climb so maybe you could make him a multi-level cat climber out of some old carpet scraps, wood and tubes. Scent it with cat nip.
