    Smile Pic of new setup

So I finally moved Monty into his new AP cage, probably the only one in the UK.

I've got the bellyheat connected to a microclime thermostat and am using a infrared heatbulb connected to a dimming thermostat to keep ambient temps up, its barely on now but will need to do a lot of work in the winter. The bulb holder is slightly too small for the bulb so I have improvised a 'spacer' but either bulb or holder needs changing long term. I've also invested in a decent infrared thermometer rather than drilling too many holes and gluing down lots of thermometer probes. I'm just using a stick on analogue hygrometer but it is accurate enough.

He's just gone in so he was cruising around looking for a way out. I'm really pleased with the set up so far. It is nice to see him stretch out, it reminds me how large he has been getting. Decor is a bit spartan but that's for human benefit not his - I am keeping an eye out for a nice stick/driftwood to put in there.

Looks Great. Is that a cardboard box lid your using for a spacer under your heat bulb? Do you have the fire department on speed dial? Just kidding. But you might want to think of something less flamable.

    It's a T3 cage.

Yes that is a stiff piece of carboard but it is very temporary and none of it touches the bulb. It's also not even getting warm but you are now making me nervous!

Very nice setup! I agree that you should look into another type of spacer for your lamp . . . .

I've just ordered the correct brand of infrared heat lamp to fit in my holder so the spacer will be gone by Friday or even tomorow
