we found a huge snake in my backyard!

    ok so maybe not.

    lol

Jeff came in this morning to show me this lil cutie!

he is the smallest snake I have ever held!

    only about 2-3 inches long!

    just thought I would share.

Northern Brown Snake? Cute! I've been wanting to herp for some Texas Brown Snakes, but haven't made it out yet.

man, that is tiny! I'm surprised anyone could spot it on the ground. It doesn't look familiar to me, but hey, I live in MI.

we must have quite a few of them in our backyard cause Jeff has found a couple before. just none this size.

    they are just so cute!

I want to do some herping in the woods behind us. there is a creek back there and I just know there are all kinds of fun lil creatures to look at!

What a teeeeeny little cutie! How do you even pick something that small up? I've found small garters in my yard (not THAT small, though!) but I'm always afraid I'm going to hurt them if I pick them up...since they're not inclined to cooperate and just crawl up into the palm of my hand. LOL

Yeah, that one is just a baby. Are you gonna keep it? I think they get a little bigger than Texas Browns, which get to be about 10 inches long.

The only reason I haven't gone out herping yet is I haven't found any hooks I like yet. And with so many hots around here, yeah, I need a looooong hook, hahaha.

I would definitely go out to the creek if I were you. Sounds like a great time!

Jeff said he just scooped him up.

he was pretty chill compared to the other ones we have found.

I was mostly afraid to pick him up myself cause of my nails! I didn't want to pinch him.

No we aren't gonna keep him. though the kids asked "pleeeeeeeeease!"

    lol

I don't know much about them and he is such a lil guy!

Jeff said he just put him back out where he found him.

    it was cool!

his head was smaller than an eraser on a pencil!

he was probably as long as a toothpick!

    and not much bigger around.

What's huge is that you managed to see such a little thing in your yard!

    Real cute little thing.
