New pics of Caesar (Cape Gophersnake) *DUW*

It finally stopped raining long enough to take the snakes outside for some pictures. My intent was to have a nice long photoshoot on the playground as there seems like many great spots for poses and fun colors to contrast, etc.

However, despite the mostly overcast sky, it was amazingly hot and muggy and heating up even more. Not to mention that little Caesar here was all about zipping around rather than posing like a fashion model. Most of my pics of him turned out to be streaky blurs and not at all what I imagined! LOL But here's a few to show off our pretty little boy....

The only playground one to remotely turn out...him trying to go UP the slide...was funny...

And some shots with an upside-down kiddie pool in the backdrop. The first shot makes his head look funny just because of the way he was moving, but it's the only one I got that came close to showing off his full coloring and pattern...

    Thanks for letting me share!!

No...not a hybrid at all. He's all gopher snake. (Pituophis catenifer vertibralis) This particular subspecies is found only on the tip of the Baja peninsula, which is also sometimes called the Cape of Baja, so that's where the common name comes from.

That, I don't know. I've never heard of it being done. Not saying it hasn't....because in today's day, who knows??? But I've never heard of one.
