A few times a year snakes find their way into the house.
This was today's guest, who was so happy to be warm again he just laid in my hands even as I tried to release him into the garden.

and yeah, he pooped on my hands

Yeah it is definately a Garter....spent most of my childhood catching those

we mostly get ribbon snakes up here...this is the first garter I have seen since I was a kid! glad to know they are out and about in the area.
