My local store
So I was picking up some stuff at my local house of reptiles and was talking to the guy like I usually do about snakes and he came out and started talking to me about the venomous snakes they had there. I never even realized they carried venomous species of snake. So we walked over and I got to see my first venomous snakes other than a typical cottonmouth we carry in florida (not counting the zoo i guess). They had an albino monocled cobra which he got to flash his neck for me which was pretty sweet to actually see in person. They also had a rhinocerous (sp?) viper, gaboon viper, cottonmouth, and green tree python. They were all babies so they were pretty tiny which made it a little difficult to really appreciate them as much. I would love to see an adult gaboon and rhinocerous viper in person because I love their colors. Just figured Id post about my little adventure to the store today.

Re: My local store
Here's a pic I took recently at the Toledo Zoo featuring two of their adult gaboon vipers. Very impressive snakes and their pattern blends amazingly well into the leaf litter.

Re: My local store
Gaboons are arguably the most beautiful snake ever, IMO. Wow!

Ya I love gaboons, they are probably my favorite to look at as well. James do you live in Jax and go to the same house of reptiles off beach? I think the owners name was Ben but i dont think ive ever seen him. I dont remember the guys name thats always in there when I go. Most of his knowledge is with boas and giants though. He doesnt know much about ball python care. I was definately glad he showed me the venomous snakes they had though, Id just love to see a yearling or even an adult just to get a better sense of them.
