    Re: $100,000 Ball?

Banana Balls are still a very rare morph and someone could probably make their money back in a few years.....if the animal remains healthy and breeds.

....however, the seller sounds like an idiot in the ad, so I wouldn't even consider buying from them. You would think someone trying to sell an animal over 10k would seem somewhat professional.....half of the sentences do not even make much sense.

Why is this so surprising? Anyone remember how much the first Lucy's went for? Or how much Ralph asked for one of his Platinums? First/Second Gen "new morphs" go for a great deal of money, it's nothing new.

Do I think the Banana is worth $100,000? Nope. Do I think Will put too many eggs in one basket? Probably.

Not that it matters to me, I still think the Pastel Clown is WAY cooler than the Banana Clown .

For me the surprise is seeing it on KS...not really sure Ralph or Kara (or any big breeder who might spend this kind of money) really hunt the want ads looking for a $100,000 snake...maybe I am wrong. Also, as cool as the Banana is it doesn't make much sense as a business venture on its own (to your point the all eggs in one basket)...as part of a much larger breeding business sure...but then you are talking about million dollar businesses and how many of those are out there...only a couple maybe?

    Re: $100,000 Ball?

It's a one of a kind animal that would most likely make the initial investment back over time.

Snakes selling for that kind of money are not unheard of. The market now may make it seem high but a few years ago, it would not have been out of the norm.

This one is a proven animal that can be used to make wild looking crosses. I spent over $3K on an unproven import animal so I wouldn't be surprised if someone buys this snake eventually.

    Re: $100,000 Ball?

The promise of designer morphs brings a whole new market value to single morphs. Not only will the Banana be worth a lot seeing it is very rare, but the combos that this snake will make will be worth tons.

Only bad news about this morph is it seems to be co-dominant. If Will decides to let go of a couple males any time soon, we can all expect the market value of this snake to plummet. If he's smart he will sell a limited amount of females and keep the males to himself for a while...

Also, it is a very nice looking snake. I saw that website about a year ago and was blown away... this is the first time I have heard of it being available for sale.
