Need Help
i going to hopefully get a baby blood python at rhe end of summer.
I know the temps that they need to be kept in and the humidity.
But can u guys show some pics of your babys and there cages and what u use to heat them?? Also i have a ten and a five gallon cage wich would be better for a baby??

Re: Need Help
you know how everyone always says glass tanks aren't great for balls? well they're even worse for high humidity animals. I would say you need to look into a cage that isn't so open, and one that can maintain humidity better. If you can maintain humidity in a glass tank, then more power to you, but my rainbow only has one hole in her cage, and humidity is still a pain.

Mine wouldn't be that exciting....thick layer of newspaper, water bowl, hide...very simple.
When I first got my blood as a baby, I put a container of sphagnum moss, and it seems to like to hide in it while it acclimated. I took it out after a few a weeks of solid eating and replaced it with a normal hide and everything has been good.
Just make sure that you have everything good to go and running before you get your blood...these snakes are nowhere near as forgiving of trial and error as ball pythons are.

There's a lot of info packed into this forum alone if you read through some of the posts and/or use the search feature. Being able to research, read and learn for yourself is essential to having a successful experience working with ANY animal, regardless of species. Try doing some more homework.
