    Unhappy could use some advice...

I'm trying to make Avalanche's cage look really nice and real. Problem is anything I use for him is wrong. I just got a PM bashing from heck on a BD forum because I was thinking of useing Excavator™ Clay Burrowing Substrate.

they told me that if I love him i should put him on paper or tile and give him a blanket to dig in.

I really dont see to much harm in letting him dig and mess around. he is not eating his bedding. I feed him outside his cage to keep him from doing that. I cant get play sand... and this excuse is valid really it is ... we dont have the room in the car to place the bag. both cars are 2 seaters and the pasenger seat in our only working car is pushed all the way up to the dash right now do to my husband being a jack ***

I dont know the people of the other forum, I'm having a hard time trusting them, along with the whole PM flame war on poor ol Jess so I want to ask you all what I should do?

Should I do the paper or tile trick and give him a blanket to dig in?

it just feels so crule to me but I also dont want to hurt him. I'm in a bind

    Re: could use some advice...

Sometimes, the BDorg forums can be a little vicious.

I say, if you want to use the new substrate, go ahead, but use some of their suggestions. Like, give him a blankie and let him pick which one he likes.

Good job feeding out of tank.

And, yeah.. tile just seems cruel. It's so cold and unnatural. =/

Well I placed a slab of Arizona Clay Tile in the cage with him and he seems to like it so I have an Idea to use it... I'm going to mold a cave over it with a blankie inside that he can play with, tear up or do horid things to if he wants. He dose like soft stuff and fluffy things so I might try that and see what he likes. it is really all up to him.
