Air holes in your egg containers

I was getting my egg containers ready and I read in NERD's book that Kevin put a couple 1/8 inch holes in his egg boxs.. Do you all do that? If you do how many and location..

Also, Adam and others, you mentioned glade press and seal.. ok i have some do you put a lid on as well or just use the press and seal with no lid..

I'm using Adam's method of press and seal with lids. I don't put holes in the egg box.

If you put holes in egg boxes it lets the moisture out ... I think Kevin humidifies his entire incubator, so the holes in the boxes work for him.

I use sealed boxes so that I don't need to humidify my entire incubator or add water during incubation.

Press and seal goes on and then the lid.

Can you explain this for me?
I don't understand the words but I like to understand the method that is used.
Because when you seal your egg-box, will there be enough oxygen for the eggs? Or do you open them every day?

The eggs don't really need air exchange everyday toward the beginning of the incubation period, as the embryos don't use that much oxygen. At this point, opening the egg box every few days is enough. Toward the end of incubation the eggs do have higher oxygen requirements, so opening every day or two is needed.

I never put holes in my egg boxes. As far as I can tell, I have never lost an egg due to insufficient air exchange. However I HAVE lost entire clutches because they dried out due to too much air exchange.
