    Versatile Rack

I own several brands racks but I am very happy with the versatility of the Vision CB-70 rack. I figured I would show everyone how this rack can be used several different ways on each level. It comes originally with 11 CB-70 spaces which are great tubs for adult BP's. For breeding season I like to use the CB-78 tubs from Freedom Breeder which are a taller 8" and breeding pairs have more room and don't get wedged in betwwen their hide and the ceiling when I want to slide open tub. Notice the two white tubs with windows on top.

I put this rack in another room which is kept a little cooler and the breeding cycles begin.

Now that all my breeding is completed the rack goes back into the snake room and the first three levels are changed to hatchling tubs. They fit 4 to a level and pull out side ways. So 3 levels become 12 hatchling tubs. The heat is provided by a heat cord which can be run several different way on each level so each level can be used differently. I use a different heat cord and thermostat probe/control for each different type of set up.

Each levels height is controled by a plastic tube spacer so all you do is change spacers to change height of tubs. Try doing that with any other rack.

The heat can go several ways, in back or long ways for side ways removal of smaller tubs.

I have hatchling tubs in mine now but there are larger tubs that go 2 per level for your larger babies. As you can see with my hatchling set up I could also go one more level and have another 4 tubs. I just need to get one more black level separator, the spacers and tubs.

This rack is also on some heavy duty wheels for easy movement. And is a breeze to put together.

I also own a Freedom Breeder and Animal Plastic racks but the others can't change levels and tubs with the seasons or collection as the Vision can. The best part it is the best priced rack for 11 levels of CB-70 tubs .

Even if you only have 4 or 5 snakes and plan on breeding this is something you can change as your needs change. It is always best to have many extra levels so cleaning is a breeze and the stress on the animals is minimal. Just go from one tub to another and no hurry to clean tubs.

I hope this is helpful to anyone looking into getting a new rack (No I don't work for Vision LOL).

Well you ought to LOL. What a great pictorial on this rack! I wasn't aware it was able to change up so much. If I was you I'd send Vision a link to this thread (can't hurt that they know a customer is so pleased with their very versatile rack system).

Thank you for this. I've been rather torn between ARS and Vision...Vision is a little cheaper and i really like the heat cord that you can move around to any way you need it. Did you say you took out one of the CB70 levels and replaced it with smaller tubs to make it a hatchling/adult rack? If so...i'm totally sold on this rack.

edit: Also...i may go ahead and go with the Herpstat PRO along with this purchase...How are you liking it so far? Are you utilizing all 4 outputs?

Also, the heating element looks very nice. I love how you can route the wire so it runs the length or width...but...Vision is the only company i know of using this technology. What exactly is their heating element? and what's the wattage? Do all 11 levels work with less than 400 watts? Herpstat Pro manual says not to exceed 400 watts per output

Yes I removed the top racks and have replaced them with larger tubs for breeding and now smaller hatchling tubs. The hatchling tibs fit 4 in a level. There is also a tub that is a little larger that fits two in a level (for juvy's). Each level is separated by spacers so when you want to change tubs that are different hieghts, you change spacers for that height. The pics you see are all the same rack. I will probably get another level because the hatchling racks are shorter and I have room for one or two more levels.

The herpstat pro rules! It controls several racks, ambient room temps and incubator all at once. I haven't set up the computer functions, I not that tech savy.

    Hope this helps!

The heat rope uses very little wattage. It depends on the length. I think they come 50 ft and 25 ft but call Scott (I think thats it)at Vison. They are very nice and helpful with info. They are 8 miles from my house so I've bugged them many times and they are always helpful
