    Good Start?

Well so far this had been the feedings.

On Sunday, she ate 4 dusted crickets.
Monday, she ate about 5 mealworms.
Tuesday, she ate 5 dusted crickets and one mealworm.
Wednesday, she ate about 7 mealworms.
And tonight she ate 10 mealworms.

Sound like a good amount of food going into her, or should I offer more? I try to leave mealworms in her cage during the day, but they always seem to escape the dish and she can't find them. I always find them under the cage carpet and offer them to her at night when I get home.

She's produced two little poops. Why I'm so happy about her pooping is unknown to me. I guess its kind of like a mother who's baby just had its first poop. This isn't her first poop but it lets me know her tummy is working fine.

She is a little pig. I feed her what she wants until she becomes uninterested. (normally takes between 10-15 min) and she'll go back to her hide or just walk away. Am I feeding her too much?

it sounds like she is doing great. you are feeding her perfectly. just continue to give her as much as she wants in 10-15 minutes time just like you are already doing.

How old is your leo?, I wouldnt reccomend feeding everyday, babies okay, everyday or every other day. Adults 2-3 times a week is plenty.

Not sure of exact age, but she is an adult or at least close to it.

The crickets she is getting only 2-3 times a week. The other days she gets mealworms (and soon I'll be looking for other food items. I'll have to go back into earlier threads to find out what kinds of insects we can feed leos.). The mealworms are small, so its not like she's getting 10 HUGE mealworms at a go.

Ah yes, I still need to look into getting pheonix worms, roaches, and the occasional wax worm.

I don't think anyone around here sells feeder roaches or pheonix worms. They do sell wax worms though. I plan on going out today to get my drawers for my mealworm coloney.

    Re: Good Start?

it is fine to leave mealworms in the leo enclosure at all times and then feed crickets or other insects 2-3 times per week. your new girl could use a little extra fat reserves so feeding her what she wants it totally fine right now.

another insect you might try is silkworms: https://coastalsilkworms.com.

I'll look into getting them next week. Is it hard to keep them alive or breed them?

the silkworms? i've never gotten them myself, but i know they are really nutritious and did think about raising them for a while. i think on that site that i linked to you can order a cup of worms and everything they need to eat and live for a certain amount of time is all in with them. sounds easy enough.
