What will get along
So i have a ballpython, and a crested, but i feel bad because they are all alone, so i was wondering what will they get along with. I remmember somewhere its not really recomended to have more than 1 snake in a tank, but when i goto pet stores they always have atleast 2, as for geckos i belive as long as there is only 1 male its ok, but from a pet store they are still babies so i cant tell what they are. any help will be appreciated thanks

Re: What will get along
Ball pythons shouldn't be kept with anything else. At pet stores, they are just kept together to save money and space, not for the care of the snakes.
As for cresties, you can keep a few females together, but males can be agressive and may hurt each other.

Do you know about chameleons? are they good with a couple in a tank, or a chameleon and a gecko?

From what I know chameleons are not social at all I can't say for sure, but I don't think that you should keep anything with them. They may kill it. I am keeping my friends chameleon for her till her roommate leaves, so I'm slowly learning about them, but they are pretty solitary.

Re: What will get along
your ball python should live alone.
your crested can live with another crested only if both are females. it is not advised to mix species so you should stay away from that for the health and well-being of your gecko.

Re: What will get along
Never base husbandry decisions on what you see done in pet stores. ....Ever. All they care about (99% of the time) is saving money while selling as many animals as quickly as possible...which always equals poor husbandry choices.
I understand how easy it is to assume your snake and gecko WANT a companion...but honestly, that is just us projecting human (or at the very least, social mammilian) feelings onto a creature that is completely alien to such things. Female cresties can get along fine in an enclosure if its the right size and set up properly for them...but that doesn't mean they NEED to have a "companion." So long as they have a clean, comfortable, secure environment...and enough of the right kind of food...and fresh water....they're already as happy as reptiles can be.

Re: What will get along
Housing more then 1 species together is not a good or safe idea. Its causes stress and even some species that their care seems the same, differ a little and that is enough to be a problem. Back when I was new to herps, I housed anoles, green tree frogs, and long tail lizards together. I didnt know any better, thought it was fine, well I learned pretty quickly after not being able to keep any species alive for to long . I kept those same species after that but seperate and they all did good.

Re: What will get along
Well i wanted to buy my g/f a crested, i got one and she fell inlove with it, i want them to be together but i gues i have to wait till it gets older to see the sex no? which means i would have to find another older gecko to make sure its a female also no?
