    Re: Green Tree Pythons

My aborial experience has been mostly with emerald boas (many of which will take your face off) and carpet pythons which are quite chill and easy to keep.

I have been told by some that GTPs will often be quite calm in time if you work with them but they stress easy and you still need to keep handling down. This is a species I would deffinitely consult with a few owners first on and be sure you have a perfect environmnet set up before you buy.

The issue with most aborials is their teeth are LONG due to the fact that they eat birds and need to get through the feathers. They are awesome beautiful animals and have a big following, find some of the folks that know them and love them and get some good advice.

There is a gal named meg over at the cornsnakes.com forum she seems to know her stuff about GTPs and steered me strait on my belief that they were all mean like ETBs.

IF they're part of Morelia does that mean they're not true pythons? I know it's probably a dumb question but I'm not sure and this seems to be the place to ask.

They are pythons, just under a different genus for certain characteristics.
