    Old Girl

We got this female back in 2001. She had two previous owners that I knew before getting her. She was imported as an adult when her first owner acquired her in the early 90's. I figure she was probably 5-6 years at the time. She gave us two litters one in March 2002 and one in November 2003. She is now retired from breeding. We took her out today for some exercise and she was her usual sweetheart self.

And of coarse, she gets a ride back to her cage on the mobile "tree".

Most of the kids are curious, but we normally keep them in our side yard so most never see them. However it was shady and rather cool in there today so we moved the "jungle-gym" into the front yard where we had a temp of 81 F. She needed to go! LOL However, I could care less about what the neighbors think, we have a permit that covers selling or displaying. My concern is for the snake's health and not the ignorance of my neighbors.

If you've read my posts in the "arboreals forum" on RTB in the "Emerald tree boa food" thread you know that we almost lost her after her last litter. Good thing for Russian Dwarf Hamsters! LOL

    Re: Old Girl

I always thought those vile little creatures (Dwarf Hamsters) should be used as snake food ONLY! I've never been routinely bitten by any animals, but these little *@$^%#! (things)... they used to get me ALMOST every time I stuck my hand in their cages (working in pet stores I had to stick my hand in often so people could see them and hold them) *shudders at the memory*

Craig your snake is gorgeous, and I'm glad that she was able to pull through after her last litter and get to experience her lovely retirement!
