For whatever it's worth, I have a TON of het albino girls of all ages and they are all fine ... I also have some spiders that will munch on your ace if you aren't careful when you take them out of their tubs.

I was talking aobut the spiders. I now nothing about agressiveness in female albino hets. But how does a snakes genotype interfear with there attitude?!

I have no idea whether het albinos are more aggressive. If this was true, I'd think an albino would be more aggressive as well.

I also have no idea whether Ed's test would even work or is a smart idea if you don't want to be bitten (though he did say you could blow on its face rather than stick out your finger).

However, "motor control" issues are behavior (which can kind of be viewed as "attitude" or "deposition"). How do you think a snakes' genotype interferes with that?

It's called pleiotropy. The spider gene apparently just doesn't manifest itself only in the cells of the snake's skin.

Remember, for most part, every body cell in the snake contains the same genes. The same gene used to do one thing in the skin may be put to another use in a different part of the body.

That snake happens to be nameless, as of a few minutes ago. Pamela is how she will be known. The one in the top right corner is also the same snake that is in the solo picture in my post. She also happens to be my ringer Spider. She is so shy, it is hard to get her out of a ball, and I can't get a good pic of her ringer mark. By the way I've tried since she hatched. if you look close in the solo pic, you can see the bright orange spot near her tail.

I think that in the general sense, ball pythons are very mellow and tolerant, but there is always an exception to that rule. I have not noticed any personality differences between morphs. Out of the balls I have, only two are nippy. One is pastel (though I have more pastels who are dolls) and one is a normal (and again, I have even more normals who are dolls). What they both have in common is that they are.. hmm.. female. lol

I could tap all of my ball pythons on the nose except one. And my Spider is the most lay back ball I have, and when it comes to weird behavior I haven't noticed anything yet.
