    My turtles...

i have a yellow belly slider (stewie) and a mississippi map (spike) in a 20 gallon. got stewie about 8 months ago, when he was about the size of my pinky. now hes almost the size of a computer mouse. spike doesnt grow as fast because all he eats is shrimp pellets. bought him about 7 months ago...

their diet consists of shrimp pellets, floating sticks, lettuce, and once every few weeks, a tablespoon of dog food.

also in there is my albino african clawed frog, casper.

    stewie

spike (always chills on the bottom)

and casper (diet consists of shrimp pellets and rosie fish)

    thanks for looking!!!

    Re: My turtles...

ok i hate to do it but i see a horriable husbandry problem that is often over looked that will eventually kill your turts. in the first pic i see no uvb light. and the turtle basking dock is not even under the basking light. these are things you need to fix yeasterday. hahah. you have great looking turts. i would hate to see them bet mbd or shell rot. because it will happen.

and alloways rember the golden rule. 10gallons per inch per turtle. so if you have 2 4inch turts that means you need a 8 gallon tank. that is why i keep my two RES in a 200 gallon rubermade horse tank.

oh and put about three more inches of water in there. when i had mine in a tank i filled it 4 inches below the screen. just enauge so the trutles back dosnt touch the screen.

and make sure that when they sit on the dock that it dosnt sink enaugh to let there bellies get water on them. as this will cause shell rot.

10$ turtles cost a fortune to set up right. wich is why i dont reccomed them to people. i have over 1500$ in my tow RES set up. and it is just about good. could be better.
