    BUG people! I D these buggies! DU warning...

    Digging in the flower bed, I unearthed a colony of these...?

    My first inpression was termites!?!?!? But we treated the house 1 yr. ago when we bought it as a precaution..... would they live 5 ft from a home, underground? Or are these a ant larva of some type???? (one tried to pinch me) ... it was cute!

    Any ideas guys &gals?????

    I agree with Ed--look like termites to me, too. It's the body and coloration that tell me that. Otherwise, their faces do look ant-ish...but I think they're likely termites.

    they are termites. you need to get them killed off fast or they will ruin your yard and house.

    Oh yes, termites. They burrow in almost anything. I bought a pile of mulch that was termite free at the time... by the time I had left it for a week it was infested with the nasty little things. I'd take care of those guys- and quick.
