I'm going crazy!!!

Since Daisys medical work, she must have an injection of baytril every day for 2 weeks. The vet made it sound so easy. She has gotten wise to us. It's amazing how fast a turtle can be when you are trying to grab a foot. It took 1 1/2 hrs. tonight for her to make a run for it across my computer desk. After all this time I finally managed to grab a foot. The vet said "oh, just tickle her back end and her front feet come out". THAT WORKED ONE TIME ONLY AND THAT WAS FOR THE VET!! I swear it is worse than giving meds. to a kid!!! I have given injections to many animals, yet the hardest yet is this dinky lil' box turtle. I have wrestled anti social great danes to the ground for medical work with much more ease!!

Hmmm remember that fable about the tortoise and the hare LOL. I've never had to give meds to a tortoise or turtle but it sounds like a pain! Best of luck with it.

I feel for you. In my work as a Lab Tech, there was one job that I hated: taking a blood sample from a Rhesus monkey.

Yeah! You would think as big as I am and running a welding dept. every night that the last thing to try my patience would be a 6 inch turtle.

We managed to get most shots in her. She gets her follow up visit tomorrow. Should be good news because she's acting like a brand new turtle.
