Ratio
Rat breeders got a ????? for you? Do you guys think a 1.6 ratio would work? Can male's handle 3 at a time, cause the other three would probably be attending babies. Would this be stressful for a male?

Re: Ratio
I'd do 1.2 (I have six girls as well).
2 with babies, 2 resting, 2 with the male

I have 1.6 right now with no babies

Re: Ratio
I'd do a 1.2 or a 1.3. I think a 1.6 is pushing it just a tad bit... you may want to just get another male and have 2 1.3's.

Re: Ratio
Til now I've had 2.6 plus a young male, Now I have 2.6 and I'm going to stay with these numbers. Just thought I'd ask to see if anyone had any success with that ratio. I'm also going to start raising one more girl.

I do 2.20 no problem, and that is a full 20, mommies get pulled out when they are fat, before they have babies
In smaller tubs I do 1.6-1.8 , with new females being rotated in as I pull fatties out.

Did you put each mother in her own tub to nurse?

Update: 2 mothers had babies last night, I had 3 that are alive. I don't suggest letting them have babies in there with 1.6
