    Video of my red tegus

Here is Groo and Gracie chasing crickets for dinner.
I just think they are cute. Sorry the quality of the vid isn't higher, best I could do.

If I remember correctly when I was reading up on them a few months ago when I was thinking of getting one... Red Tegus are the largest in the species, which get approximately 4 feet long. Blue Tegus are the smallest which only reach about 3 feet long.

Closer to 5 ft, from what I was told, and up to 25 lbs.
    I love 'em!

Re: Video of my red tegus

Very cool video - I've kept 3 Argentine B&W's, 1 Colombian Black, and 1 Colombian Gold - As to the largest, the Argentines usually are in fact the largest - 4'-4.5' - 25 pounds however would be very obese for a Tegu.

The largest adult male I kept was 4'2", and weighed in at around 11 pounds - He was a big boy with a big appetite, however you could sit him on the couch with you for hours just scratching his back, and he was content

Tegus are a very nice pet although their size may be intimidating - although the Colombians are much harder to work with and become people friendly.

Again - good vid - I miss my Tegu's, but they do take up some space when adult size

I heard they can be pretty tame as they grow. All the ones that I deal with are at Phoenix Herp Soceity and they deffently have horrible attitudes. So im yet to have a plesent experience but I do know it can be done.
