    Aaaaaaaaaaaah!

Okay, I have grown quite fond of my rats but I swear my double rex's are driving me nuts. I look at them and just itch to rush them to the vet for skin problems since they are patchy.
Last checkup says they are normal and peachy keen so I know they are fine but dang, they just look so...wrong next to my normal coated rats. They are cute and sweet but I will never willingly own a double rex again. Sadly both of my males are double rex and two of my breeder girls are (unrelated) soooo, I'm doomed for rexes at least til I can swap out one of my boys (any takers?).
It's quite embarassing to have people over and they go 'dear god what's wrong with them?' honestly I have to agree they look wretched.

OK, so what's the difference between a rex and a double rex? Care to share pictures to illustrate?

    Re: Aaaaaaaaaaaah!

Hehe, I have two morphing hairless boys here, also. One is black and one is agouti, both dumbos. The black dumbo boy's name is Yaki, meaning Fried in japanese. Hehe His hair definitely looks fried and crispy(but not, he's softer than normal rexes). The agouti dumbo boy's name is Agouti Nerd(or just nerdlet, nerdington, etc). He's a dork.

Yaki has migrating dots that move around on his back. One day they're on his love-handles, the next day they're up by his shoulder blades. He has a HUGE widow's peak on his forehead, but sometimes it switches spots and faces back towards his tail.

I'll get some pictures of these boys soon. Just adorable!

Lordy they do look like they have mange! LOL I like the rexs but I think I'll stick with the regular ones (if I can EVER find a flippin rex, dumbo ear, etc. in this rat boring city that is!)

    Re: Aaaaaaaaaaaah!

I forgot to give ya'll his name. That is LoLo (an old NES game that I enjoyed as a child) he enjoys playing with his jingle ball and will roll it around till I want to about brain him (I do threaten him with being snake food on a regular basis but I think he realizes it's all bluff).
My little dumbo d-rex girl (named Mia) is worse. She's almost all nekid behind her head, you can just see her black skin from her hood.
My grey hooded girl(Idgey) is probably the most haired of the four doubles I have followed by my other boy (Scrump). Then I have my capped girl (Snitty) and two blues(Elvira and Morticia) who are NOT rex and look so blessedly normal.
