Coastals get the biggest, some being over 10'...I have a female around 9' + and she eats 3 or 4 Jumbo rats at a time...

Irian Jayas stay the smallest...Around 5' full grown...I hope to produce I.J. Granites and I.J. 66% het Granites this year...

Carpets are great out going snakes...They are also a few genetic Morphs being produced...Jon

    Female Coastal Carpet

    Irian Jaya 100% het Granite

There's a pet store near me that has a really pretty, mature Carpet on display. He(?) looks to be about as big around as a standard soda can.

    Check out www.acreptiles.com

Anthony is a great breeder (I bought my male IJCP from him) and he has a great caresheet about carpet pythons on his website.

    Re: Carpet questions

even a 10'+ coastal wont get all that big around as long as they're properly fed. i've seen some picture of carpets that are pretty obese but they're a fairly slender snake that tends to bulk up earlier in life than a lot of others. the cool thing about coastals especially is that they get this gigantic knuckle head as they get older.

I would go with a jungle carpet as they are a bit smaller than a coastal.

As far as which is nicer, that is personal opinion. I have sold off my adult jungles to focus on my coastal and IJ projects.

The only jungle carpet morph is the zebra. This is not in the States yet. The coastal morphs are still running close to $1000+. The only ones accessible currently are the tiger and jaguar.
