    Aldo is picky!

My male Albino has been with my large het Xena for months on and off and I couldn't see a lock. Then I put him with my other het Ally and the next morning we got a lock! He definately prefers one over the other LOL! Anyone else ever have this experience!

Thumbs up Re: Aldo is picky!

congrats and best of luck to you! I haven't experienced that myself for this is my first year in breeding but I'm sure others might have seen it over the time in their breeding once or twice.

She may not be in the "mood" yet.Are you leaving them together for months at a time? I leave my male the female for 3 days then he rests for 3 days and so on.If you are leaving them together for months at a time then he might not be interested in her or vice-versa.

From what I hear, it's not just the male that determines whether breeding will take place, and that definately corresponds to other species. Maybe it is Xena who is the picky one.

    Re: Aldo is picky!

I do the 3 days on and 3-4 days off. One of them is the picky one because my back up het male and Xena locked up within hours. Truth be told Aldo may have locked up with Xena and I just kept missing it or maybe he's just intimidated by the BIG GIRLS!
