    Talking Ambross has arrived

In the few minutes I held him to warm him up, I have 3 things to say:
    1. He's got some AWESOME coloration...especially that belly
    2. I LOVE the way his scales feel. (I'm use to my MBK who's very sleek and smooth to the touch and this guy is more.....textured?)
    3. DANG HE'S FAST!
This little guy can turn on a dime and go from due east to due west in the blink of an eye! He's very skittish right now and will dart at the slightest movement...he didn't care for the kids' hovering around him, thus I ushered them away. He doesn't mind being *on* a person but does not take too kindly to being *handled*. He didn't hiss, strike or anything but was more than happy to shake his tail and give the typical "you want some of this?" head posture.
Right now he's sitting in his water dish (I haven't filled it yet) playing invisible.

It's going to suck not being able to handle him for a while while he adjusts, but oh well, such is the way with new snakes.
He's only 4 months old and is nearly as large as my yearling MBK. He's probably about 20-ish inches and about half/three quarter inch in girth.
Did I mention he's got the greatest nose and a looonnnnggg tongue?

    I know, I'm a loser...I am cameraless!
Yes, he's a bull snake and every bit as big as my yearling MBK. He got mad at me this morning while he was....erm...bathing in his water dish. I came into the bathroom and he felt it necessary to shake his tail at me, hiss and run for cover. LOL
    God I'm loving this snake!

@Aleesha, the pix in the other thread just don't do his nose justice at all! He's got the most perfect nose I've ever seen!

    Re: Ambross has arrived

Bulls and all pits for that matter are just cool snakes. Even most in the wild don't bite but they like to put a show on. I think it is just my "way" with snakes but I can't keep any of them willing to display and be agressive for long.

I just got an Egyptian Diadem which are supposed to be mean as all get out, mine is a sweet heart.

My new bull was like yours when I got here, tail rattle and some hissing. With in a week, sweet heart.

My dumerials boa even calmed down, but I worked to get him there on purpose. A two foot bull that hisses and strikes is cute even a five footer does not scare me.

On the other hand a 7 foot boid that bites is NOT COOL! That can spell stiches.

Anyway from the linked post it is a pretty snake you have there, congrats let us know when he looses his attitude,
