    Exclamation Not eating

    Hi everyone!

I've been trying to feed my ball the last 5 weeks and she still has yet to eat. I think she may be doing a winter fast sort of thing. Here's my question...How long do you think I should wait until I attempt to feed her again? She isn't losing any weight so I'm not concerned about that. I'm just sick of throwing money in the garbage because she isn't eating.

    Re: Not eating

Often refusal can be husbandry related

Check temperature 80-84 on the cool side, 90-94 on the warm side

    Check humidity 50%-60%

Make sure the enclosure is in a low traffic area

If you handle your BP a lot stop until he resume feeding

Make sure the hides are tight enough

Sometimes BP also fast to catch up.

If you feed during the day you might want to try feeding when it is dark.

If you feed F/T try leave the prey over night

If your BP is in a glass tank you might want to switch him to a plastic tub for the winter which will allow you to maintain the right temp and humidity and make your BP feel more secure.

Often just by switching to a plastic tub setup BP resume feeding.

As long as your BP does not loose too much weight he will be fine.

If everything I mentioned above has already been done and your BP is still not eating all you can do is to offer again in a week time and see.
