Update on the Coastal Carpet rescue.

In reference to the coastal carpet python I was able to rescue a while back (See thread), here's an update on her progress. She has been gaining weight like a champ (from 290g empty on 11-16 to 350g empty on 12-9) and has switched over to medium rats with no problem. I swear she's a little longer too, but that might just be wishful thinking... She's also got a great new cage to live in now that I finally got it all finished! Here's a couple of pics of the cage... she's hiding in there somewhere...

I got the actual piece of furniture from target, then I took 1/4 inch expanded pvc and covered the inside walls and made a tray for the substrate. I cut and routered a hole in the top for the light / heat lamps and installed the wire mesh to hold them in place. The doors used to be solid wood so I cut out the middle and installed 1/4 inch acrylic in it's place. The branches are trees from the woods that were cut and sterilized and the rest is just decoration. I think it turned out pretty nice too.
