OK, Scarlett has settled down for the evening, my panic is over!

Awwww she is tired out from those babies. Well that's what you get when you hang out with boy rats LOL. By the way she's a lovely looking rat, very pretty RB.

nice lookin critter . she does look tired . raising babies is hard work when they have 8 to 18 of them to cope with . i always give my females a week or 2 to recuperate once the babies are weened before putting them back with a male .

Thanks! Yup, the plan is to give her a couple weeks off before being re-introduced to the breeder tank with Caesar and Mrs. Snuggles (who STILL is not preggers! LOL)

I actually picked her up at PetSmart, they were selling blues for a little more than the others. She was the only self, the others had a white belly.

i have seen a few at the petsmart here and i am sooo tempted... i just hesitate because i know someone who got 2 female rats from there not too long ago and one turned out to be male (he didn't realize this until he got them home) and both turned out to be sick (not sure what they were sick with but he took them to a vet). he returned both rats the next day and brought his kids for a visit to my house to pick out some nice healthy little beebies.

That's a shame. I was lucky - she's been extremely healthy (and correctly sexed obviously! LOL)

Maybe, just maybe, if I produce more RB's - we'll just have to meet up somewhere between Savannah and Atlanta and I can give you some!
