quick question about breeding morphs????

I've been doing alot of research on breeding but one thing im confused about is, Does it matter if the male is an albino and the female is normal, or should the male be normal and the female be albino just an example of a morph. but does it matter which on has the gene or not really

As far as I have heard so far, none of the morph genes are tied to sex.

Genetically speaking, it doesn't matter which parent is albino and which is normal. All the babies will be 100% het for albino. (Will look normal but carry the albino gene)

The reason people try to go with a male albino and a female normal is because once the babies are born and grow up, you can breed that male back to each of the het girls that hatched...greatly increasing your chances of hatching more albinos.

If the female is albino and the male is normal...then when the babies reach sexual maturity, you can only get one clutch (that will hopefully have at least one albino in it) by breeding a son back to the female.

If at soome point you are planning on having several females it would be better that you pick a Albno male

Look at it this way it is be better to have 1 Albino Male and 4 or 5 normal females rather then the opposite 1 Normal male and 4 or 5 albino female.

The results would be exactly the same 100% het Albino but the original investment would be minimum with your females being normal.

Yaa, in reality you should go with a morph male and normal females, but in genetics.. it makes no difference.

thank you all for the replys so fast. i took monty to the vet today for his normal routine check-ups and i wanted to go specifically to get him sexed because i dont know if hes a he or a she. in all reality im hoping that he is actually a she so that way she will be my first and i would make sure to make her breedable size before i got my male and i would order a breedable male of another morph.

also, Is there any other sure fire ways of telling a male from a female by anal spurs, tail length, or body length and/or girth? I figured that there is no other way to tell unless u pop or probe them, but i figured i'd ask just to make sure
