Re: Never enough pictures....
Good photos man. I love monitors. The way they look at you with a sarcastic "Uh ... Yes?"

Re: Never enough pictures....
I read that link on the Storri, any problems with aggression among yours as of yet? I know you have the extra cage in case problems arise, so I'm sure it won't be much of an issue.
It also sound like as far as breeding, even for such a small lizard they need huge enclosures to reduce the possibility of stress and fighting. Some aggressive little critters. Have fun with em' If you ever successfully raise babies keep me in mind.

I still say you need a Daniel Hill school of herp photography LOL. Between your excellent subjects and your use of lighting, I always love to see pic threads from you! Gorgeous as always.

I have still noticed a little aggression here and there. Nothing specific and nothing targeted at one animal. Kinda like....if one bumps into the other...one might snap then it is over. They like their own space.....and they are always aware of the other monitors in their enclosure. Before keeping these, I have never seen a lizard chasing a cricket....but stop and turn away because they got 'too close' to another lizard. Also, from talking to a few other keepers, I have found that they have 'same sex' aggression alot more frequently than they do against the opposite sex. I want to figure them out a bit more.... I think the 'horror stories' associated with v. storri might just be because no one is keeping them right. We will have to see

great pictures Daniel. let me know when they hit maturity. i wonder if the aggression happens after they mature? would be an interesting observation since we know ball pythons go through some behavioural change around 1000 grams.
