Question Heated perches in ATB cages?

Has anyone ever heard of heated perches in ATB enclosures. I was told at a local pet shop that it is a good way to provide a warm enviornment for arboreal snakes. could i please get some feed back?

I have never heard of them but maybe they are simply hollow tubes with heat cable inserted into them?

He said that is what he uses in his tank. He mentioned that they are a new product and he showed me one you can basically get it hoever you want it (to resemle a brach ar just a piece of wood with a hole drilled clean down the middle and has a speacila heating element. It is like a cord or something like the ones used in the vision racks http://www.visionproducts.us/racks/htm2/heating.html . and shoew me his setup. i should have gotten pics ill try next time.

I really like that heat cable, at least by just starting to look into it.
As for the heated branch thing; I don't see any problem, as long as its temperature is controlled like you would with a UTH element..

yeah it is controlled i took a look at his sytem setup today it was real nice unfortunatly i was not able to get any pics. This is how it is the cage i like this: for the cage floor he has a 1/2 in. thick. with a series of drilled holes down the length of the cage floor with the speacil heat coil run through these holes. that takes care of the overall cage heating. now for the perches he drilled holes in the side paneles of the cage for the coil to inter and to exit with the coils going trought a series of three fiberglass branches. all of this is conected to a thermostat like a normal uth sytem would be. i will make sure i get pics next time i go.
