    Exclamation Internal bleeding?

Hello, I normally feed my large female 2 pinkies and tonight I fed her them about 1 hour apart. Well when she ate the second one, bloody like fluids came out of her mouth. It was a very light color of red as if it was blood mixed with other fluids. Could this be an internal injury or is it possibly coming from the first pinkie? Should I just observe her the next few days? Please respond fast, im starting to freak.

    Re: Internal bleeding?

The only thing is that I dont know if its from the 1st pinkie which seems very likley. Ill give our vetrinarian a call tomarrow since they are obviously closed right now.

Also, she is being very active and doesnt apear to be in any type of pain at all. She is always this active so shes not acting different. Ill keep an eye on her.

    Re: Internal bleeding?

Do you feed live or p/k? I know when I feed frozen pinkies to baby cornsnakes they often get 'pinky juice' that is pinky blood mixed with the water that I thaw them out in squeezed out as the snake swallows them. It's similar to what you described- light pinkish liquid.

    Re: Internal bleeding?

I use F/T and often notice a bit of orangey/pinkey "juice" has squirted onto the white paper towel from squished rodent - so could well be that. But if you're worried, you can check it out with the vet.

    Re: Internal bleeding?

Was thinking of you yesteday evening - it was feeding day for boa and ball - but ended up looking more like a blood bath!! I gave the BP a small rabbit and there was a little puddle of pinkish blood stain where she'd eaten it, and in the boa's cage I think the chick must have popped there was quite a bit of red blood on the tissue where it was eaten.
