    New kid on the block!!

I got this new kid from Kelly as a gift today. They told her it was a florida kingsnake. He is so flashy and bright. I will be getting my other kid in 3 days so I guess we will need 2 seperate isolation rooms. Fast as a whip. Had to get help with pics because he was too fast to hold while I try to get a shot.
I wasn't expecting this one so if there is any care different from most kingsnakes please fill me in.

    Oh my!

Congrats on the new little baby. I love the contrast. Was it a special occasion or just a little treat?

Re: New kid on the block!!

First off.. that is a california kingsnake.. NOT a florida king. lol!

It's a spotted morph cali king (lampropeltis getula californiae)

They are super easy to keep and will always eat for you.. congrats he's super cute!

I agree. They're the best kind. It's been awhile since I've had one of those. Although both kids have been telling me I'm the best mom they've ever had a lot lately. Of course I'm the only mom they have so... but still a wonderful gift from my babies.

Thanks everyone, and thanks Shelby for identifying him. Kelly knows nothing about snakes, She just knows I love them. I'm somewhat familiar with kingsnakes, but haven't kept many. There are so many different ones out there.
