Green Basilisk

I bought a baby green basilisk on Saturday and am wondering how long i should leave it before i try and pick him up.

Not hugely experienced so worried about hurting him what do you suggest?

From my experience they aren't really big on handleing, but i am not an expert.

These guys hate being held... they're a look-at, not a play-with lizard.
