    Suffed sausages for Ed :P

Ed, in your "fat little morphs" thread, I said that I had a couple CH '06s that were 550-600g, you said "they must look like over stuffed sausages".....everyone can decide whether I have over stuffed sausages, or just normal growing healthy snakes ( not that I need the reassurance, I know where I stand ..... dont think I took the sausage comment harshly, or am bitterly trying to prove a point LOL, just thought you might wanna see

heres a pic of 3 of my sausages LMAO, note: each of these sausages is fed 1 appropriate sized rat every 7-9 days, no power feeding here folks (many local breeder friends have been trying to get me to feed on a 5 day sched.. if it aint broke, dont fix it man LOL)

the one on top is a March born CH '06 female (598g)
the Albino male was born on June 27 '06 (310g)
the one on the bottom is my smallest '05... late Sept.'05 (1208g)

For what its worth, my largest '05 female tips in at 1506g

1208? The one on the bottom? You suuuure? It doesn't *look* 4x the size of the 300 gram albino, but hey, photos do wierd things sometimes...

    That's phenomenal growth though....good job!

I honestly dont know what to tell you Ed, people ask me how all the time, and I just dont know what to tell them....Ive seen people that feed ALOT more often than I do, with bigger prey as well, who dont get near the growth I do(I dont use anything bigger than 50-80g small rats, even with the big 'uns...snakes under 400g get big pups or weans) maybe there is a correlation between heat/humidity, and growth vs. feeding, I really dont know... my snake room is completely isolated, with no windows, which allows me to have total control over light cycles and ambient temps/humidity, non-breeders are on a cycle of 18 hours of light per day, ambient temp is around 83, temps in the racks are 81-83 cool side, and the Helix is set to 96 on the tape( whatever it is in the tub...it is LOL) humidity in tubs is 60-70%, bumped to 100% during shed, fans are run 24/7, creating major air flow.....how are things run at your facility Ed? as far as temps/light/humidity/prey & size/feeding intervals, this could be something to look into ( growth rates vs living conditons/feeding rates)

Elevatethis...I just went and snapped god awful pics of the Albino, and the girl in question ,on the scale to ease your mind please dont mind the weight on the Albino, he downed a big weanling last night... and yes the container was tared so if you need, I can take pics without it, it just takes about ten minutes cause the platform is so damned tiny
