Giant ?'s

I've always kind of liked leopards but didn't want to hassle with crickets. I've been thinking I don't think the crickets would that bad. I want something different and would maybe sell easily if I decided to breed them. Giants seem to fit both criteria. Im wondering though how many days a week you feed them and how often can you feed mealworms. Also whats an average how much they eat in a feeding. What are some good breeders of giants too. I know Tremper has them.

roaches. they're awesome. no stink, no noise, and they dont eat nearly as much as crickets, PLUS they have a more meat then chitin as opposed to crickets then crickets. i just got some lobsters and i love them.

I have thought about them and will probably get some for my cresteds, but I would need something more of a insect eater to justify starting a colony.

you can feed leos soley on mealworms if you prefer. i keep a dish of mealies in my leo cages at all times and toss in a few crickets here and there. just refill the mealie dish a few times a week (or whenever the bowl starts to get empty) and you should be good to go.

Mealworms are fine so long as you gutload them properly.

I keep anywhere from 500-1000 at any given time in the fridge, and twice a week I take them out for 24 hours and allow them to feed on potato, apple, carrot, or whatever other veggies or cereal I have on hand. Basically, if its good for you, its good for the worms, which is good for the leos.

I got my mealies from Richard Beasley but I forgot his company name. I only feed them to my 3 leos, rats, and my sav so not very many are needed. I use Turkistan Roaches(blatta lateralis) which are non climbing egg layers. They get about 1" long so even adults are ok for leos to eat. The babies are TINY

I dont' think Im gonna get any since one giant is what I wanted to spend on a trio from Tremper. Guess I'll just have to get another male amarali instead.
