    Whoa!?

Alright, some of you may know that my snake has a respitory infection. But I just heard him make a noise like a frog, or a cat purring..Is this part of the respitory infection?

It's possible I guess... most usually they just wheeze when they breathe. But he could've been trying to clear his airway.

Or maybe his tummy was grumbling, or he burped, or farted. Lol.... They make funny noises sometimes. Sorry, I can't give you a definitive answer.

The tummy grumbling killed me .He could be trying to clear out the guck in his throat.

    Re: Whoa!?

I talked to a friend of mine who owns a couple ball pythons(he lossed one from RI too ) and he said the frog type noise is a part of the RI. Hopefully the meds will take care of my snakes RI though. How long does it usually take to clear up?

Lol, I have no idea... I've read stories on here about it...

I'm not sure how long the RI will take to clear up. When Kinky had what I thought was an RI---never really proved it or not---the vet sent me home with six weeks worth of medication and told me to keep her on it until all the meds were gone.

What type of meds? I have to give injections every 3 days for my bp.

    Re: Whoa!?

Hmmm... I believe mine were injections for every three days, too, but, now that you mention it, I don't think they lasted for six weeks. Maybe three? *Sigh* I can't remember. This was almost a year ago now, with my boa.

In any case, yes, mind were injections and I was told to keep giving them until they were gone.

If symptoms persist after all your meds are used up, another trip to the vet is in order. The meds either weren't enough, or your snake has something other than an RI.
