I hate crickets!
Man, how do you "catch" them amongst their egg crates for one thing? And secondly, if the cresties don't eat them, how the heck am I supposed to "wrastle" them out of McCastle that Karl created for the cresties?
We picked up a couple of the free "cricket lunchboxes" of small crickets from Timberline at the show and this was the first night offering crickets.

I am not a cricket fan myself. I also have given up owning any animal that eats them. Sorry man, but I have no help to give ya.

Re: I hate crickets!
Crickets are dirty and nasty. I find my Crestie loves them though. I buy 15 or so once a week, gut load them and then dump them all in. They get eaten over the next couple days. I wouldn't take any back out. They die, so be it...

i use paper towel rolls that i can just pick up, shake into a baggie, dust 'em, and poor them in the cage. simple as that.
i personally dont have any problems with crickets. its just a trial and error type of feeder. i dont find them to be dirt or nasty if kept and fed properly.
one thing ive found is those commercial kricket keepers and what not are a PITA. a 10 gallon waste basket with some toilet paper rolls work much better then commercially available cricket cages to keep 30-40 crickets or less.

Re: I hate crickets!
i use one of these from armstrong crickets to house crickets: http://armstrongcricket.com/polyk.htm. i stack eggcrates in it and throw in some paper towel and toilet paper rolls and put food in a dish in the bottom. then as marshall said, shake the paper towel rolls out into a bag with calcium/vitamin in it, dust and feed. easy!

Re: I hate crickets!
I usually use a kritter keeper to house crickets (the special cricket one, with the tubes). I may have to run otu and buy something else soon though. I'm pretty sure the 1/4" crickets can jump out of the slots on the KK.

I keep Blatta Lateralis(Turkistan Roaches) for my leos and Sav. They get slightly larger than crickets, have no smell. can't climb, and I've had very few die. Typically, they are great to feed from a dish.
