    Humidity Problem Please Help

I just got off of work and came home... to find my new tub set up for Kali all messed up! It dropped 3 degrees down to 87 which is ok i guess and the humidity was at 74%!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What do I do? Do i need to drill more holes? (refer to my pictures of the holes on a previous post)

I would drill a few more holes and change the substrate if it is wet. (soaking wet)

Maybe if you leave it alone for a few minutes, it would go down?

I haven't misted it at all.. nothing in there is wet but the water in the bowl!!! I took the top off to let some out but not the temp is dropping because I did.. I don't want to mess up!!!

Also for my boy Kole tank I use a heat lamp and I cannot find the perfect position for it to keep it steady!

Try keeping the water bowl on the cool side of the tub. Mine works perfectly so long as the water is not on the heat. If it gets put on the heat, the humidity goes nuts.

If you have a thermostat set up correctly, you shouldn't have that drastic of a temperature drop, but if you're using a dimmer switch or something like that, then you will have temp swings whenever the room temp changes.

So I should attempt to move the bowl before I drill more holes? because I really don't want to take her out and stress her out while I fix her tub.

That's what I would do....just try moving the water and give it a couple of days to stabilize. A fan moving air around the room helps as well. (Not blowing directly on the tub)

From what I understand about bloods, though (speaking only from reading about others' experiences)...they sure do enjoy crawling in and through their water bowls and will slosh water all over the place....so your blood may require more daily attention than your ball, just to keep her cage clean and relatively dry.

JLC perfect! (I put a couple more holes in and moved the water bowl) Please view my other post "Is my blood happy?" and respond if you could. (in regards to giving her more attention)

hit he nail on the head Judy they do like to go through the water so make sure your water bowl is sturdy enough to handle them crawling through it without tipping etc

And as has been said dont put the water bowl over the heated end I place mine in the middle but it depends on the size and shape etc but Cool end or middle I suggest.

They do require more attention tank wise than Royals in general especially when they get bigger , my water bowl in my males tank is big enough to house an adult Royal but he has moved it several times all over the tank .........boy are they strong

ok awesome... like the pics you first saw I had the bowl in the middle of tub. I know have it as far to the cold side as I can bring it! As for weight it's a granite bowl.. pretty darn heavy I don't think I should have an issue there!
