    Beared Dragon Housing Multiple

Is there any problem with housing male and female beared dragons together?

Yes, they can breed at too young an age and it cause all kinds of issues you really dont want to have to deal with. Each dragon should be in its own enclosure... unless you plan on breeding them. If you plan on breeding them, wait until they are at least 18 months old.

    Re: Beared Dragon Housing Multiple

First, it depends on how old they are, younger dragons are often times very hard to sex. Basically, you look for hemi penal bulges in the males and a set of pores inside the legs and underneath the dragon between the legs. Females have neither. However, this is not fool proof seeing as though beardeds tend to be difficult to sex when young, and the fact that individuals tend to develope differently. I suggest housing your dragons alone in thier own enclosures until you do know thier sexes for sure. Housing multiple unsexed dragons can be done, however, thats how nipped tails and toes happen in most cases.

Bearded Dragons are the second best starter lizard (first being a leopard gecko) IMO. They are great animals to keep too ....they have their own little personalities The only reason that they are 'second' in my book is because when I was keeping them they seemed to take up a little more time and money than leos....but if you have time and money...you have no worries

    Re: Beared Dragon Housing Multiple

so if i may ask... why would you want to get a new pet who's needs are daily?

they need fresh fruit and veges daily as adults with silkworms/crickets a few times a week. as babies they need lots of crickets daily.

personally, after having a few dragons of my own, i would highly recommend you get something with less needs until you have more time on a daily basis.

    just my 2 cents
