Re: Pics of Kali's Tub... Need Advice
OMG all this time has passed (without the dimmer because i believe it cooled back down) and it has only raised 3.7 degrees! Show me a pic of and stats of the dimmer you use.

Don't worry, your heat pad's fine. That's normal for it to be slow to heat up. Mine took a few hours to get up to my desired temperature for my BP.
Btw, good move on the switch to a tub! You'll find it to be SO much easier to maintain than a tank.
Oh, and I saw the pictures of your blood python. Really nice!

Here ya go.
My dimmer is the same thing as you. My thermostat I'm asking for Christmas is a Herpstat. That way I can make a rack and get some flexxwatt.

good and yours works? about where do you have it set to keep perfect heat? OH and can you show me some pics of thermostats? It doesn't make sense at all how a thermostat is going to heat a rack or tank or tub! Or I'm sure the thermostat is regular the temp pf something else that is heating it? BUT WHAT?

The thermostat has heat tape, or heat pads hooked up to it, like a dimmer, but it has a probe, so it monitors the temp in one tub. ( Still, use a thermometer for monitoring temps/humidity) When it senses the temperature is too high, it cools the heat source down to the preffered temperature.
go to www.mgreptiles.com and click heating supplies. Then click thermostats and look at them. I've heard the best he has are the Herpstats, Rancos, and Johnson Controls.

Yup. I just put mine under the tub. Some people like to put it an inch under the tub, but that is too high up.

The heat pad it attached to the tub? I don't have it not touching it? If I understand correctly although my heat pad is attached the space between it and the desk is causing the loss of heat?

Re: Pics of Kali's Tub... Need Advice
The thermometer is in the back left so it's about about 1/2"-1" away. I just moved it on top of the back of the heat pad along the back wall! (tongue twister) I guess I lied it's at 84.4. It is moving so slow!!!
