    I think he's sick......

Ok, I just noticed it last night that my blackthroat is making a sneezing noise every once and a while. What's the problem? Is there anything I can do?

my tegu does too.. if the substrate is dusty at all you'll have that.
if he's lethargic, has rapid and/or shallow breathing, or has mucus coming from his nostrils then you have a problem.
if you're worried though, you can elevate the basking temperature 5-10 deg and see if it gets better. if it gets any worse go to the vet.

Ok, Thanks alot. He's not lethargic at all, actually he's more active than he's ever been. It could be kinda dusty since I have him on cypress but I don't know. As for the mucus I haven't noticed anything out of the norm. Still eating 30+ bugs a day.

sounds like you have a monitor

switch to dirt though. he needs to be able to dig and burrow.

i would look around for any sry stream beds in your area. walk the stream bed and look for places where the silt drops. its awesome dirt.

Or you could get bags of topsoil (untreated, no fertlizer or additives etc) from your local Home Depot, Lowes etc ... it's cheap.
