    Cali King Regurged!?

Don't know why, but my King regurged a pinkie recently. Temps are steady at
84 high, 78 low and humidity at around 50%. He ate two pinkies that were 3.3g and 3.5g and it appears he kept one down. Were his eyes just bigger than his stomach. I know they weren't too big because I follow the care sheets regarding the correct sizes for feeding. He is a voracious eater and I think he would keep eating as long as I keep wiggling pinkies in front of him. He lunges at them and coils his whole body and "rattles" his tail with glee when it is feeding time. I also make sure not to handle or disturb him for at least two days after feeding. Anybody else have any random unexplained regurges?

does he have nice tight hides? is his cage located where people are or where people walk through? the only thing i can think of is stress. anything that might have stressed him out recently?

Yeah, hides are good, I even put crumpled newspaper in to take up any open space in the tank. He is in a separate "snake room" that sees little to no foot traffic, (only me and my girlfriend in the house). This is also the only regurge and it is the fifth feeding since I've had him. Looking at my feeding records, I am thinking that he may have been given more than he could handle (although he ate ravenously). The feeding before the regurge was 8 days earlier and he got one 3.2g pinkie. The regurg feeding was two pinkies of the same weight.

They were only a little bigger than his body width, didn't even form much of a "bump" in his body that I can recall.

ok, he probably ate too much then. one of the pinkies should have been plenty. next time only feed him one.

    Re: Cali King Regurged!?

Could he be getting ready to shed? My hognose did exactly the same thing, never any regurges, then one out of the blue after which she definitely went into shed mode. Post shed she's been feeding fine ever since. My BP and Boa on the other hand never seem to worry about feeding and shedding at the same time.

Yeah I think he over ate, no signs of shedding so not sure that is the problem, but definitely something to consider. Thanks for the responses. I fed him again on 7/29 and so far no problems.
