    Re: any suggestions?

A trick that rabbit breeders use is to freeze bottles full of water and set them down where the animals can lay on them as they thaw out.

I use those at the reptile shows when selling rats. The guy next to me uses them for rats and mice as well, some water condensation to lick off and a lot of coolness!

Just the last few days??? Man, I DO need to move.

And yup, frozen water bottles and fans work for us! My bunnies like to lay on or against the bottles, and even lick them to help cool off. Sometimes we give them frozen treats too, like frozen peaches. Frozen strawberries make too big a mess.

    Re: any suggestions?

excellent! I never would have thought about that. I know my snakey babies have been curlin up both inside and around the water bowl, dont know why I never thought about ice. my long-hair cat curls up in the sink, in the cast iron bathtub, and arounbd the toilet bowl.

thanks folks, I knew I could count on you.

(update - they licked the water off of the bottle and pushed it away. however, it is only 81 in here right now, so they are probably more comfy than they have been in about a month. will keep trying though. I'm sure they'll enjoy it later)
