    Scorpions living communally.

So a friend and I both have emperor scorpions which we had housed together. We did so because we were told these scorpions lived communally and can be housed together.
A few days ago my scorpion ate his scorpion

I've seen petstore Scorps sting and claw eachother. I'm not sure on them about housing, but I heard they CAN be kept together. I guess your pair proves that wrong (of course, even dogs or cats attack eachother, so there isn't much to go on).

They are often kept together successfully.. you just have to make sure they're around the same size.. and I think I read that females are likely to fight with each other.

I have three juveniles living peacefully together.. for about a year and a half now.

I think I've read somewhere that female tarantulas will sometime eat males put with them, I don't know if this is true with scorpions but it would make sense.

Makes sense, my scorpion is female, my friend's was male. A few care sheets I found on the net indicate communal housing is OK, however one source said it's OK in instances of three or more scorpions.

I have 21 tarantulas and you are right about females eating males. Tarantulas can only be put together for breeding and about 50% of the time the male does not survive. Sometimes the female will let him mate first, and sometimes not.

However, I don't know about scorpions and would like to. I'm getting some baby emperor scorplings tomorrow and I was wondering if it would be better to get two or three?

I've housed 6 adults together for almost 2 years with no problems whatsoever. I've seen some mating behavior, but never any aggression. I've never heard of cannibalism with emperors before. Were yours of similar size?

This is probably obvious, but you want to keep communal groups fairly well fed as well.

Also, what size enclosure were you keeping them in?
