theres not really anything you need for ackies as far as pet store bought "reptile supplys" go.

if you'd like i can give you a list of the things you'll probably need.

ok, you'll need a 20L to start him off if hes a hatchling.

you'll need a shallow water dish. he doesnt need to soak in it so it doesnt need to be huge just something for him to sip water from.

you'll need a heat bulb and hood fixture. i got those both from Lowes. i got the 45 watt halogen flood light and i also bought a dimmer from Osh to control temps.

you'll need a hiding area. i prefer a retes stack placed under the basking site to provide for a temperature gradient and nice tight crevices. here, i have a pic of my monitor on his when i first got him:

you'll need some sort of hide on the cool side also. you can just put a couple retes boards there too, and your ackie might like a climbing branch to hide and climb on. i give mine one just so he has something to run all over.

dont forget atleast about 4 inches of burrowable dirt for a hatchling also. once adult they'll need a whole foot.

yes, you need to make the stacks yourself. i cut a piece of plywood into 3, 8 inch x 8 inch squares and drilled a 2 inch diameter hole into the corner of them, then i nailed a 3/4 x 3/4 inch, 8 inch long "runnings" along one side of the 8 inch squares.

i use plain dirt from outside. its the silty stuff from a dry creek bed and my ackie makes some cool burrows in it.
