    Madagascar Roaches

I always hear of people using Dubai raoches for their reptiles or invertebraes. I recently fed my Rose hair (as some of you may know) a large (just under 2 inch) Madagascar roach, and the T seemed to enjoy letting it die slowly, and devouring it. Are Dubai ones better or something? Never hear much about the Madagascar roaches.

    Re: Madagascar Roaches

The problem with the hissers is that they are slow growers and reproducers. They also grow to such a large size that it isn't really practical for routine feeding of most herps other than larger lizards. The dubia roach is a fast reproducer and a non climber (can't climb glass and other smooth surfaces like hissers can.. as well as lobster roaches and discoids.. two other popular feeder species)

I don't plan on housing or breeding them. I only have one Tarantula to feed. Just wanted to know if they were harmful or not (should have asked BEFORE I fed it).

Where can I find Dubai roaches, anyway?

You can order dubia roaches online.. do a search on kingsnake or fauna.

I got mine from TCO Roach Store - there should be a review/link on the front page I believe.

Shelby, I believe lobsters climb. Discoid don't but lobsters do.

Yeah I know they climb.. I guess I didn't word that very clearly.

I used to breed lobster roaches, so I know just how well they can climb too! lol
