What kind of RTB is it? I know some are known FOR their change in color. It just depends on it's origin... If you know what sub-species it is, I promise you someone on this forum has pics of their adult...

if you look at the pics of my 2 critters above you'll see that natasha is much lighter than borris is . she is also much larger and older than borris so no , not all boas darken as they get older .
