Wink I should have named him Short-Bus (warning, messy pics!)

Yanno...temperment-wise, Pickle Bunny is quickly becoming my favorite snake. He's soooo calm and curious. He's just amazing.

Buuuut...he's not the brightest. If he were living out in Africa, he would have surely been eaten by an eagle by now.

I fed him last night...he struck at the F/T mouse like a viper...grabbed it before I could even set it down! It's after that point, that he tends to forget where he is. Hehehehe. He had the mouse sideways...and sat there for five minutes (yes, I timed all of this). He then started to try and eat it...only problem..the mouse was still sideways. But he tried and he tried. He worked real hard at it...in the process making the mouse resemble Rick Flair's head...covered in blood...head and belly. This went on for anouther THIRTY MINUTES!!! FIIINALLY, he found an end and got to work again. Only problem..it was the wrong end. So, my little Pickle decided to eat the mouse butt first.

FINALLY, 45 minutes later, the mouse was in his belly. He gave me a beautiful yawn and waited for me to pick him up, wipe the blood off him (heh) and put him away.

And it was completely white when I first gave it to him! Funny, I always thought snakes weren't supposed to chew their food! LOL.

haha.. the yawn pic is really cute. Snakes can be so darn cute in their dumbness. I have an anaconda that eats like that almost every darn time. He'll grab the middle of the rat.. stop and think for about ten seconds, let go, grab the butt, stop and think about it for ten seconds, sniff around the head, grab the middle again.. repeat repeat..

    ooohhhhhh the carnage, great pics.
I have a boa that did that to a rat and blood skeeted out of its eye. I wish I had got a pic of it but all i could do is stand there in shock.

I have a boa that eats like that commonly..however, he likes to start at the middle of the body and procede to snap its spine so he may swallow it that way... literally, he has been seen folding the rodent in half, the wrong way, like it is doing a back bend, and snapping its spine. At first when I saw Caleb doing this, I freaked, but since he actually does it alot, no matter what the prey size, I have grown use to it....

It actually use to be, when I thought Caleb was just abnormal.. but now that he does it commonly, it is like watching an old re-run.

Hahahahaha. That's great. I think that's what Pickle was hoping to be able to do...he was really working at it for quite some time! I don't think he was strong enough though..all he accomplished was making a perfectly white mouse red! LOL.
