    Strawberry returning home

Well, my daugther and son took Strawberry (3 toed box turtle) with them on their trip to Arkansas.

We got her almost year ago when we were coming back from there and we saw some moron SWERVE TO HIT HER!!!! He just clipped her and she went flying so we stopped. Long story short ... she has been with us for a year, and the kids let her go last week. Here is a pic of her ...

Were you able to release him back in the same general area you found him? I think that's an awesome experience and lesson for your kids!

What aaajohnson means was that they took the turtle in kinda as a rescue and his kids took the turtle back to Arkansas where he was found to be released back to the wild. Cool little turtle! I wish a had a box turtle of some kind!

    Re: Strawberry returning home

Yeah what cody said. We stopped and figured she would be dead, but she was pretty scratched up with her head just hanging out. We thought she would die, but we brought her home anyway. Within a couple days she came around, so wekept her for almost a year, and then the took her back to Arkansas with them this summer.

Pork Chops, you and I are confusing each other !!!!!!

Anyway, for you two guys in Nebraska ..... Go CU !!!!!

Just razzing you, my dads whole family and my parents live in Nebraska. I can't wait for Whitetail season again this year. The parents live by Franklin, just north of the Kansas border, about 40 miles south of Kearney. Where do you guys live???

    Re: Strawberry returning home

That's wonderful that you and your family took in that injured turtle Neil. Very sad and sick that a human being would go out of their way to try and run down a turtle though...that's just disgusting! Glad Strawberry is now back in the wild, healthy again due to your family's efforts.
